PedRisk is a simple to use program that calculates the probability of getting affected or carrier dogs based on known affected, carrier and clear dogs in the pedigree. In addition, dogs can be listed as having an "average" genetic load based on the occurrence of the disease in the breed.
The free version of the program is fully functional for all calculations. The full version ($10.00) adds the ability to print the results, save and retrieve up to 500 pedigrees.
Click here to download the program. Your browser should ask what action you want to take. Choose "Save" and select a directory. The file will be named PedRisk.exe. After the download is complete you can drag the file to the desktop to create an icon or just run the program by double clicking on it in Windows Explorer.
The example shown has an average effected rate of 8%. This means in addition to the 8% affected dogs another 40.6% are affected. Two affected dogs and one producing dogs are listed. The result of this breeding would be a 20% chance of affected, 50% chance of carrier and 30% chance of clear. This is the screen of the paid version and includes an identifier and a print button.
